The mechanical condition of older machines is usually still very good; however, the outdated electronics or control components can no longer be repaired or replaced due to age. In these cases, a complete electrical modernization can bring the machine back to life for at least the next 20 years.

The goal of our retrofit solutions is to bring proven precision machines technically, mechanically, and electrically up to the latest state of the art – while maintaining the machine's high inherent accuracy.

The mechanical overhaul forms the basis for the precision and performance of every jig grinding machine. Our focus is consistently on the highest geometric accuracy and long-term reproducibility.

During the overhaul, we replace all essential mechanical components, including: measurement systems, ball screws, drive motors, ball bearings, professional overhaul of grinding spindles, and much more.

Mechanical Overhaul

To restore and improve guiding accuracy, all slides are hand-scraped by experienced specialists. This allows us to achieve a flatness of up to 1 μm.

Subsequently, the entire machine geometry is realigned and adjusted by our experienced technicians. The replacement of worn ball screws, outdated displacement measurement systems, and servo motors ensures the dynamic performance and positioning accuracy of the axes in the long term. In conjunction with the subsequent laser measurement and spindle pitch correction, we achieve a significant improvement in axis accuracy and repeatability.

The completely overhauled mechanics ensure the highest processing quality, excellent form and position accuracy, and the reproducible production of highly precise contours – even for the most demanding applications.

Electrical Cabinet and Cabling

The electrical cabinet is completely rebuilt and rewired. The existing cables on the machine are replaced and routed in a closed cable duct between the machine and the electrical cabinet.
